Christina Goihl
Christina Goihl started her career at W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik in 1984. Like every Master Painter before her, she underwent a rigorous training period to learn the skills of this complex occupation.

In almost 20 years at Goebel, Goihl has sharpened her painting skills and mastered the rewarding art of bringing the cherished, M.I Hummel figurines to life. Goihl is particularly adept at using the color palette, developed especially for M.I. Hummel figurines, to add expression and warmth to each memorable piece.

Like many of her fellow Goebel employees, Goihl has a genuine love for painting. Included on her list of favorite pastimes are billiards and reading books. She especially enjoys traveling and often tours Europe and the U.S. on behalf of Goebel. In addition to her exceptional artistic talent, one of the many reasons why Christina Goihl makes the perfect representative for Goebel is that she loves meeting new people in new places.

Ulrich Tendera
Born in Wiesenfeld, Germany, Ulrich Tendera began his distinguished career with W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik at the age of 17 when he began an apprenticeship as a Ceramic Painter. He continued at Goebel working in various departments where he learned the skill and expertise involved in the decoration of M.I. Hummel® figurines.

After successfully mastering the exceptional skill of a painter, Tendera remained in this department until 1979. After a year off for military service, Tendera rejoined the company in 1981 where he began training in the whiteware quality control area. In just five short years, Tendera was entrusted with the position of the head of quality control for the whiteware department.

As is often the case with Goebel workers, Tendera followed in the footsteps of several family members - his mother and two aunts worked in the whiteware department at Goebel. In the 25 years he has been with Goebel, Tendera has held various positions leading up to his current post as the most senior individual in the production department - a responsibility well earned!

Tendera has been traveling for Goebel and participating in painting promotions in Europe, the Far East and the United States, throughout his career. His knowledge, enthusiasm and love of M.I. Hummel figurines make him a sought after guest at local retailers in the U.S. and Canada as well as on broadcast television! Tendera's passion for art is only surpassed by his first love -cinema. He also writes short stories and poems and his hobbies include reading and cooking.

Frank Knoch
Master Painter, Frank Knoch combines artistic talent, imagination and a passion for art when painting prototypes for new M.I. Hummel® figurines.

A native of Rödental, Knoch was born there in 1961. He spent nine years in public school and three years in a local vocational school before entering the renowned Goebel Apprenticeship Program in 1977 at the age of 16. There he began his training as a porcelain painter. After three years of hands-on study, Knoch passed the rigorous examination given by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Coburg and became a full-fledged Goebel painter.

During the next 14 years, Knoch developed his skills in various positions in the Goebel painting studios. He became a respected artist and because of his special talents was assigned to paint particularly large figurines and new samples. He became a supervisor and headed up the Goebel training department for painters, passing on his skills to young, aspiring artists. Through the years, Knoch has toured Germany, visited the United States and appeared at the opening of Euro Disney in Paris representing Goebel and demonstrating the painter's art.

Frank Knoch still lives in Rödental, Germany with his wife and two children. In his spare time, Knoch enjoys soccer, tennis and listening to music. Outside of Goebel, he is also an avid painter and is exceptionally skilled at working with oils and watercolors. His warmth, ingenuity and traditional German sense of humor make him an enjoyable guest everywhere!

Horst Hoefler
Horst Hoefler's love for art was fostered when he was a young child by his artistic uncle. This early contact with art and painting led him quite naturally to his role as a porcelain decorator.

He began his formal training as a member of W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik's apprenticeship program in 1960 at the age of 16. After passing the final certification exams three years later, he progressed through several different decorating departments.

He expanded his practical skills as well as his theoretical knowledge under the guidance of highly qualified specialists. In the seven years that followed, he continued to train intensively to further his specialization. In 1970, he achieved the status of supervisor, a position he continues to hold today. Since 1982, he has made promotional appearances throughout Germany, other parts of Europe and in the United States.

In his spare time, Hoefler enjoys outdoor sports such as swimming, soccer and tennis and likes to paint oils. In addition, many of his leisure hours are spent with his wife and two children at their home in Coburg, Germany.
